Plot: Italian horror auteur Dario Argento produced and co-wrote (with director Lamberto Bava) this gory, nightmarish horror film set almost entirely within the Metropol, a huge, cathedral-like Berlin cinema showing an invitation-only screening of a rather lame slasher film. The difference, of course, is that the cheap scares on the Metropol's screen are child's play compared to the horrors which soon emerge to lay hold of the unsuspecting filmgoers: when a young woman is scratched by part of a display in the theatre lobby, she begins to mutate into a fanged, slavering creature who then attacks other audience members, spreading the demonic infection until only a handful of survivors are forced to combat rampaging armies of inhuman beasts, making the latter portion of the film resemble Night of the Living Dead. A handful of sequels followed; there's a little reward for those who stick around for the end credits. ~ Cavett Binion, All Movie Guide

Demons is an 80, Rockish, Gory, Bloody, Hardcore film that should belong in everyones horror collection

Plot- (Just Plane Awesome), a group of people enter a new movie theater with high expectations, but what they come out with is death when people start to turn into demons, and all hell will break loose

Acting- (Just Plane Cheezy), We all should love the acting in this movie, it is just so bad, thank you italians

Gore- (Oh Boy), a ripped cranium, some ripped throats, blood splatter everywhere, an eye gouging and more

Bottom Line- 5 out of 5, this is one gory/awesome flick

Rated R, Time 88min, 1985, Color

Whatever you can make of the plot go ahead and ignore it that takes a back drop to the amounts of gore in this fun Italian Fantasy horror from Lamberto Bava. Not a movie you should take seriously like you would Argento's Suspiria or Fulci's "Beyond". But just something about this flick keeps me going back to watch it for more and more laughs.

Gotta love coke heads.

A gorehound and Metalhead's delight of Grindhouse cinema.

Demons(1985) is not a good movie.
It features bad acting,an incoherant plot and stupidity galore.Yet,this directorial debut for the son of the great Mario Bava,Lamberta,is so over the top,it's tough to dislike.

Grindhouse fans rightfully cite this as a party favorite, and it's great for get togethers of like-twisted minds.
The plot(?) is about a diverse group of people who get free tickets to a new theatre to see the premiere of a New Horror Movie.
The film is about Nostradumus and demon possession(!) and soon fiction becomes reality as the movie goers are besieged by demons!
VERY gory with effective make up FX and some seriously twisted moments that linger in the moviegoer's mind.
The insanity is amplified nicely by an 80s Metal/Hard Rock soundtrack that is quite amusing at times.
Whether it be punks snorting coke to Billy Idol's "White Wedding",motorcyclists riding in to the lyrics of Motley Crue's "Save Our Souls" or the showstopper of them all,the hero drving in the theatre on a Motorcycle and sporting a Katana sword(!) ready to save his girl as Accept's classic,"Fast as a Shark" blares away on the soundtrack!

This film is alot of fun, nothing great, but it's a must see for the gorehound and fans of Zombie movies.
Followed by a more suspenseful sequel a few years later and Dario argento's The Church(1989),which was supposed to be the third one.
The DVD features Trailer, commentary and behind the scenes footage.

Nice DVD at a decent price.
Hope you have fun, splatter fans!(and Metalheads might want to check it out as well.)
